Our History

Cascade’s unique approach to solving complex machining challenges was born out of founder Dirk Ellis’s early years as an aerospace casting engineer at Precision Castparts Corporation.

Dirk thrived in the worlds of metrology and metallurgy, ultimately learning that the path to success in solving complex problems was through creativity and the willingness to imagine bold solutions. Dirk eventually ventured on his own to create Cascade Engineering Technologies, fusing these two disciplines and in the process, created a business few have equaled.

Cascade was founded to offer world-class metrology services to manufacturers of critical components of all types. Over time, Dirk invested in the right technology and equipment to offer the aerospace casting industry “best-fitting” and cast datum machining.

From there—with understanding of both casting nuances and metrology, we applied our knowledge and mastery and began to offer end item machining and assembly of mission critical aerospace components. That was 2001.

Driven by our insatiable appetite for challenge, today we are known for delivering the most complex, thin wall, monolithic structures that others seek to avoid; both in casting, forging and hog-out applications. We employ our experience and expert inspection capabilities to achieve perfect quality, flawless accuracy, minimal scrap, and 100% on-time delivery for our customers.
